The
Organizational Effectiveness Institute,
OEI, founded in 1995,
traces its roots back to the Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering.
Since those early days, OEI’s forward-looking vision has reflected the
dramatic changes sweeping the world: the move to a free global economy, the
new competitive global market place, the transition to a "knowledge"
work force, and the unprecedented impact of technology on this latest "industrial"
revolution. The need for a "holistic" approach to training encompassing
technology, technology management, management, leadership, quality and environmental
issues was perceived then, as it is now, to be the fundamental requirement for
corporate success. During OEI’s affiliation with the School of Engineering,
we focused exclusively on engineering topics. Since OEI's spin-off from the
Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering, on July 1, 1999, OEI
has pursued its wider vision. OEI will continue its world-class engineering
program encompassing the latest technologies and standards, augmented now by
complementary programs in management, leadership, economics, quality and reliability.
Upon popular demand, OEI has expanded to include a specially designed curriculum
for non-technical professionals offering comprehensive, yet not mathematically
challenging, overviews of the latest technologies. As in the past, our Advisory
Board, Program Directors, Distinguished Faculty and the class participants
will continue to lead the way to OEI’s prominence in the technical community.

. . . OEI Policy
We at OEI pride ourselves on our attention to detail,
flexibility and service to the professional community. As we strive for excellence,
there are occasionally situations beyond our control.
Cancellation
Policy:
A full and unconditional tuition refund will be made when requested a minimum
of fourteen business days prior to the beginning of the class. Cancellations
received after this time will qualify for course substitution only. Tuition
is applicable towards any scheduled OEI course, and must be taken within two
years (24 months) of the originally scheduled course date. Note that a $150
US administrative fee will be assessed for any cancellation request received
less than fourteen days in advance of the class.
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control may necessitate substitution
of an instructor or textbook. In the event of class cancellation, tuition
will be promptly refunded. Please consider this possibility since we cannot
be responsible for non-refundable travel arrangements.
Non-discrimination Policy:
As provided by law, it is the official policy of the Organizational Effectiveness
Institute that no person shall on the grounds of race, sex, religion, color,
national origin, disability, age, or sexual orientation, be excluded from
participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination
under any program offered by OEI.
. . . Our Faculty
The last decade of the 20th century has been nothing less than another "industrial"
revolution. The pace of technological advances in all fields, mutually cultivating
each other and rushing forward, while supported by seemingly unbounded public
funding, has brought us marvels of technology, not so long ago considered
science fiction. Today, hardware coexists with software, the systems are "embedded"
and "distributed", "middleware"’ surfaced and boundaries
between once distinct fields of engineering became "fuzzy". It is
now harder than ever to say "my job ends here…." Now, in addition
to continously catching-up with innovations in "our own field",
an interdisciplinary training becomes a professional necessity.
OEI's mission is to assist the technical community, and all those associated
with product development, business development, marketing and management,
in a rapid adaptation of critical technologies deemed necessary for meeting
your company’s next strategic objective.
OEI's faculty is comprised of world-renowned academicians, scientists, and
engineers who currently practice in their respective fields, and who, in addition
to their theoretical knowledge, bring their vast practical experience to the
class. In these days when ‘economies-of-scale’ thrust many institutions
into mass-produced, web-based training, OEI remains true to its original mission
of cultivating a time-proven, stimulating environment of personal interaction
and free discussion with the instructor in a classroom-based environment.

This site provides easy access to course titles, information, descriptions,
and availability. After selecting the curriculum of choice, (e.g., Management,
Information Technology, etc.), click on the course title or number to view
a detailed outline. Each scheduled class displays the presentation’s
dates, locations and tuition. The classes bearing no dates are not currently
scheduled, but are generally available upon request for on-site presentation.
