About the Instructor
Dr. Dennis S. Mok is a Lead Consultant at Bellcore where he is responsiblefor engineering and analysis of large-scale distributed systems and networks for broadband and multimedia applications. During his nine years with Bellcore, Dr. Mok provided technical consultation and developed computer systems simulation models for NYNEX, Pacific Bell, U S WEST and BellSouth. He has published over a dozen technical papers on systems and networks modeling at major modeling and simulation conferences and was guest editor and a member of the editorial board for the International Journal in Computer Simulation. Dr. Mok is an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers University, Graduate School of Management, teaching Computer Information Systems courses and was Associate Professor of Computer Science at Western Illinois University for three years before joining Bellcore.
Dr. Mok received his Ph.D. and M.Eng. in Industrial Engineering (Operations Research) from Iowa State University in 1985 and 1982 respectively. He received the Outstanding Young Men of America Award in 1987 and received the Bellcore Quality Leader Award in 1993.
